What We Have Been Up To

I have not been the best at blogging, but here is a taste of what we have been up to lately!

I learned to fishtail braid. I know, exciting right?!?

Every April and October when Nathan goes off to the Priesthood session, Molly and I head off for a Mommy/daughter date. We both look forward to this night. I ask her a ton of questions about what she likes, what she has been doing, her goals, and anything else she wants to talk about. I have a journal that I record only these bi-annual interviews in. Although we spend a lot of time together on a regular basis, it always fascinates me to see how important this night is for her. She knows that night is all about her.

Molly lost her first tooth!

She participated in a handstand record for national gymnastics day.

We found out we are having a BOY!!!! We told her by writing it down on a paper and putting it inside a few envelopes. She was ecstatic and so are we!

Nathan had a birthday. He just gets better with age and we sure do love him!

And that's what we have been up to this past 2 months!

Feeding ducks

(it's hard to see, but despite Molly's efforts the duck closest to her was getting all of the bread.  She finally delivers to the other duck at the end...)

First Day of Kindergarten

The first day of kindergarten did not go as smooth as we planned. Our district offers both half day and full day kindergarten and we had chosen half day. The kids that go to half day are bussed to their home school and then put on another bus to the school that hosts the half day kids. So after Molly got on the bus, I decided I would follow behind to make sure the bus transition went well. I waited across the street for the second bus to come out and it never did, so I walked over to see what was going on and it turned out she was the only half day kid and there was no bus, so I drove her, no big deal. Long story short, things were not sitting well with me so I called my Mom for advice. She and I both have strong feelings about half day school, but the closer we got to being in that half day class, the worse I was feeling about the whole situation. She gave me some great advice and I went back to Molly's home school and asked if we could do half day twice a week and full day the rest of the week. The Principal agreed. I was so relieved. I went and picked her up from the half day school and drove her back to her home school where she has been loving it.

They made the kindergarteners where color coded shirts the first day. Smart, but doesn't make the best first day outfits!

After school Grana and Tibu called for the first day report. I thought it was cute seeing her lay on the couch with her little legs crossed and giving them the rundown of the day!

Mother's Day Pre-K Program

Molly had a Mother's Day Tea at school today. It was so fun and the program was adorable.

Here are a few videos from the program:

"God Made Me"

Molly and Porter

Molly and her friend Porter were eating lunch and they wanted me to take some pictures of them. They were cracking me up as I watched them plane what they should do in each picture.  After they were done Porter said, "We are going to be friends forever and ever, even after we are dead!'

Back Walk Over

Although at gymnastics they have been working on doing back hand springs, they haven't even attempted a back walk over. I don't know if Molly saw someone do one or not, but this morning she decided she wanted to be able to do it.

Hanging out with Bishop Everitt

My brother is serving as a bishop in his ward and the Sunday we were all visiting, all of the cousins ended up in his office after church.
