Valentines Day!

Valentines day makes me reflect on a few things in my life. Usually Nathan and I write on this together but today he is at work and I have a few things to say. Last night Nathan stayed up late making me a little book with pictures and everything to let me know he loves me. I am married to an amzing man and we are expecting a baby any day now. I couldn't be happier with my life! Last year on Valentines day we were newlyweds and I thought I had hit a peak of happiness in my life, but I am even happier this year.

This was us last year on Valentines day. We went to Benihanas for dinner and had a great time!

The reason that Valentines day brings me to a time of reflection is because of my Valentines day from two years ago. I was having a surgery that would either save my leg or force me in to amputaion. It was a very dark time in my life. Throughout all of my surgeries and all of the therapy I had tried really hard to be positive and happy, but I had hit a low. After seeing many doctors and specialists, a doctor in California suggested a new experimental surgery. He knew a doctor at the University of Utah and they worked out a plan to try and save my leg.

I realize this is a gross picture...but it is what it is! Sorry to all the squemish ones!

I never imagined during that time when I was at an all time low, that one year later I would be married and feeling a high I had only dreamed of. Now two years later it is even better. I guess you never know what life brings, you just have to hang in during the lows, so you can feel the highs!
